Decent venues, poor guide Review by mc

The only thing our guide did was escort us to each of the five locations. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Not a word was said about the places we were visiting. No history, no information, nothing. Half way through a tour member asked if we'd be getting anything at all along those lines, to which our guide (Kathy) responded "you can ask me anything you like". About 20 minutes later she stopped on the street to inform us that the Back Bay was filled in with dirt from Newton in the mid to late 1800s. That was it. Pretty much the only words she spoke for the hour and a half she was with us. Highlight was "Teuscher" but only because of the terrific shop keeper who gave us some history on the company.

Definitely not worth $50 per person.(Posted on 11/23/2015)
Mostly good chocolate, could be better Review by Chocolatefan

For the most part, this was a great tour, but had a few areas that needed some real improvement. I would have been very disappointed if I paid full price and did not go through Groupon. 4 of the chocolate shops were top notch. Georgetown cupcakes are to die for, and the chocolate truffles and chocolate cookie samples were excellent. Sweet Heaven is clearly only on the tour for the kids. All of the candy is mass produced, too sugary, and mostly pretty gross. A disappointing stop for sure. Our tour guide was pleasant enough, however her appearance was very unprofessional. She was clearly very unkempt, and dressed very sloppily. I appreciated her demeanor, but was put off by how she chose to present herself in a professional environment. Overall, a good tour but some very definite areas to improve. (Posted on 11/7/2015)
