Linda was a great tour guide & we really enjoyed the walk through the neighborhoods of Georgetown. She was informative, fun & kept us on schedule! The samples were a nice variety...not just candy. Wonderful day & great chocolate!!!(Posted on 4/6/2014)

Set your expectations... Review by Isabella Ray

Overall it was a good tour with a great tour guide. I will say that initially we were a bit skeptical about the tour based on other reviews we had read. Mainly, set your expectations to wait for the tour to begin. This is my only complaint. Our tour did not start until 30 mins. later due to other 2 groups going ahead of our group. Perhaps, the company can begin the tours at different locations so it can start pretty much on time. Group A meet at point x, Group B meet at point y, and Group C meet at point whatever, you get the point. That way they have the potential to meet at the same place, but the wait will not be 30 minutes.
This is a critique of the people at the tour, there were some ladies in high heels...which was ridiculous. You will walk ALOT. So come prepare with comfortable shoes, if you have a date afterwards leave the fancy shoes in the car. Also, if you plan to make dinner plans after the tour, make them about an hour after the tour is scheduled to end, bc the tour can run late due to the many stops and people wanting to buy at the various places. The places we visited were good. I also would have like at least 2 samples. That is probably not economical for the tour, but I was left wanting to try more samples at some of the places. Another recommendation for the tour company is to provide water at more places. After trying so many sweets, and walking thirst sets in...water was only provided at one place. Also for the participants, if you can bring a water bottle....you will get thirsty.
Overall, it was a fun afternoon date for my husband and I. We recommend it, follow some of our advices and set your expectactions that you will need to wait and you will be ok. We recommend the tour and would sing up for another one in the future. It is also a great gift idea...(Posted on 1/2/2014)
Tour Guide was a NO Show!!! Review by L.Renner

Company requires a 48 hour notice for cancellations from patrons but can't be bothered to notify us when they cancel!!! We showed up, waited 30 minutes and only when we went to one of the scheduled stops to ask if this happened often were we told the company had cancelled all tours for the week. Company was not answering the 800 number on the website either. What a huge waste of time and money!!!(Posted on 12/28/2013)

We had the best time. Philip was a great tour guide - his knowledge of history makes for great conversations. And the chocolate...make sure you bring your wallet because you must take some with you. Each stop is as good as the last one. DELICIOUS!!!(Posted on 12/23/2013)

Tujon was an excellent tour guide. The chocolate was outstanding. We loved learning about the history of Georgetown and walking around the historic city was half the fun! We will be doing this again for sure!(Posted on 12/23/2013)

Chocolate Tour of DC Review by Debbie
The tour was good, however I was disappointed no ice cream at Tom's, and for those of us like myself that like white chocolate, none was offered. It would have also been nice to combine this with either a cheese or some type of salty food.....way too much chocolate/sweets!! The market was bleh to say the least. My favorite was Fleurir and Sprinkles.....nice fun day, but could be improved!!!!!(Posted on 12/8/2013)

Great tour Review by Jane Bridgeforth

This tour was wonderful. Lots of walking so you get to burn off all those delicious samples you taste. Our guide was very entertaining and gave us some mini history lessons along the way. There's time to taste and buy unless you want to circle back to your favorite shop once the tour is done. Parking is a short walk away and you can catch the bus to Union Station if you came by train or bus. Great!(Posted on 11/27/2013)
Good, but not Great Review by K

Sprinkles cupcake was great and I was so glad we went there instead of Georgetown cupcake which has awful cupcakes. Would've rather had something more interesting than solid chocolate from Godiva. Web site gives the impression that participants will have ice cream at Thomas Sweet, but we got fudge instead. Major letdown since they are known for their ice cream and have so many flavors. Chocolate babka at Marvelous Market was good, but the one at Dean and Deluca looked much better. The chocolate we received from there instead did not have much flavor. Chocolate from Fleurir was incredible as was the chocolate pecan pie from Pie Sisters. Definitely an enjoyable experience, but some of the stops could definitely step it up - especially when participants are paying $50. (Posted on 11/17/2013)

Participated in this tour today. Had a blast! Enjoyed the chocolate indulgences and seeing Georgetown. Our tour guide Linda was wonderful! Definitely recommend this to anyone who loves chocolate. "The Chocolate Tour of Washington DC will take you to chocolate paradise and beyond..." My small group had so much fun, we plan on another unguided trip in the spring to shop, but will be stopping by a couple of these establishments for sure!(Posted on 11/16/2013)

I took the tour on Saturday Nov. 2 and can't say enough good things about this. Our guide Sam was very knowledgeable about chocolate as well as about each place we visited. She was very pleasant and we never felt rushed through any of the boutiques. I would have taken the tour again with her. The selection of different types of chocolates was very good showing us the different textures, complexities and flavors between the places we visited. The owners/managers of each were very friendly and welcoming. Our group of about 15 was a great group with lots of stories and fun. I did not hear one complaint, only compliments. I have recommended this tour to all my friends. Mary (Posted on 11/4/2013)

This was my first Chocolate Tour. It was wonderful. The individual taste treats were just enough to enjoy the flavors. Our tour guide, Linda, was fabulous. I am sharing the information with friends.(Posted on 11/2/2013)
A Simple Date and Time Might be Nice Review by sbirsky

I tried to figure out the dates and times offered from the Amazon Local site. Absolutely NO data there. Zippo. Nada.

Came to the website trying to get an idea... This appears to be a mess as well. A simple sentence upfront everywhere that lists the approx dates and times offered would be great. It only lists what has been sold out.

Wanted to send a message asking or letting them know, but it forces you to go through their automated checkout cart. So here I am submitting it under Reviews. Later.(Posted on 10/4/2013)
poor customer service Review by Christine Stavrou

My friends and I bought living social vouchers for the DC chocolate tour and were very disappointed when the only times available were on Thursdays even though Sundays weren't listed on their sold out days. I tried contacting the company through the website once and left two phone messages with them and I got no response. There's pretty much no way to contact the company if you have a any issues or problems. Very poor customer service. (Posted on 9/22/2013)
Almost perfect!!! Review by Jane Pierson

Rob, our tour guide, was just great. He regaled us with historical tales of Georgetown and the entire region. The stops on the tour, with one notable exception, were perfect. This is something any chocolate lover should do! The disappointing stop was at Marvelous Market. The chocolate babka was yesterday's, or perhaps Tuesday's chocolate babka. I warmed mine in the microwave which helped a little, but it was dry and stale. No value added with that stop. I hope you can substitute another one.(Posted on 9/19/2013)
Delicious! Review by Jamie

My two friends and I booked this tour for a Sunday at noon in July. Unfortunately, because of the weekend construction along the metro, we were 20 minutes late for the tour. The tour left right on time, and so we were dismayed that we didn't make it. However, we decided to go around to each destination and explain our situation. The shop owners were extremely understanding and let us have our samples!

We wished that there was a number to call so that we could have caught up with the group. Nevertheless, the treats were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. (Posted on 7/29/2013)
